Balstock music Festival

Red Kite were one of the Charities chosen to be awarded part of the donations collected during the weekend so we spent from 7.00 pm till closing time and from 2.00 pm until closing yesterday and we were back again today from 3.00 pm until 7.00 pm. Aside from gathering money we distributed one whole box of Helpline cards and spoke about our work to everyone who got a card. This was the most concerted effort at awareness raising we have ever done, and it worked. We had 8 people disclose abuse and we attracted 3 really committed volunteers. We have also made contact with a therapist who would like to join us. We are tired but happy tonight. We will discover how much our portion of the takings is but that is not as important as the awareness raising work that went on.
