Referrals to Red Kite from other agencies in Herts
At Red Kite whilst we would like to be able to offer our services to everyone, we are not equipped to deliver services to certain groups such as children. Please find below our guidance on all those who you can refer to our services.
Any agency who is using Frontline, please continue to do so. For those who have not yet adopted this portal please use our secure email address enquiries@redkitesupport.org.ukand the password which Red Kite will provide on request.
- We cannot accept children in full-time education under the age of 18.
- We can accept those between 16-18 who are not in education.
- We will accept any gender but we only have female counsellors and volunteers presently.
- If you are referring clients to us we will need to speak to them on our helpline before we can refer them for any therapy. We are happy to ring them and will attempt to phone (where provided with their number by consent) up to three times before leaving them a message to ring us on our Helpline 01279-790450.
- We give priority to those victims who come through our helpline themselves rather than those who have already received counselling or therapy from other services. This is because we are not in receipt of national or PCC funding and need to raise funds for counselling before we can buy in counselling services. There is therefore likely to be a waiting list for therapy referrals.
- Our counsellors are instructed to assess each client before proceeding with any therapy. If they are not suitable for therapy for rape and sexual abuse support (ie they have other conditions which would interfere with any therapy for rape and sexual abuse trauma) then we will refer or signpost them to other referral services.
- We only serve residents in the Eastern Herts catchment –from Bishop’s Stortford in the East up to the Cambridgeshire borders, down to Stevenage at the extreme west of our catchment and down to Welwyn & Hatfield & Broxbourne in the South-East of Herts
